about
the beaches in australia have kite flying days, one of these bore this song
lyrics
Listen to the sound of the swallow’s lost song
Harnessing the wind and saddling the unridden sun
The liver red fire at the heel of the sky
The beetle-black wing of the swallow telling you you can fly.
Listen to the way that the longest branch groans,
Dripping worried sap, and drying as the worried wind blows
All at once moves, and all at once breathes
You and I bend as limber as two saplings
And I’ve had it in mind to tell you
I’ve seen you in the sky
You’re the streamer on a kite
You’re the streamer on a kite
You’re the wayward streamer on a long-strung diamond of a kite.
Listen how like flies are the endless black wheels
The galactic harvest hoard of the fecund silicone fields.
The old dry well, now safe under stone
The trembling earth, the pumps of our hearts till we’re gone
And I’ve had it in mind to tell you
I’ve seen you in the sky
You’re the streamer on a kite
You’re the streamer on a kite
You’re the wayward streamer on a long-strung diamond of a kite.

My favorite Lawson album to sleep to. it's so warm and cozy and relaxed, and it does just make me want to Sleep, Eat, Snuggle & Repeat. Very homely and comforting dillon.

Just discovered this ancient gem among the treasures of Steve's collection. Beautiful melodies, intriguing harmonies and textures and fascinating bass sounds unheard elsewhere. chorna

WTF? How was this not in my Bandcamp collection. I must've bought it from a different account before! Anyway, I've been listening to this since before it was released and a decade on it's still a spectacularly perfect collection of songs. Sounds like a greatest hits album. Literally any track could be chosen as my 'favourite'. Truly astonishing. Steve Lawson

Julien Baker is an acquired taste - assuming of course you’ve acquired great taste in singer songwriters… beautiful, devastating, honest, insightful… I’ve not heard a single song of hers that hasn’t left me in absolute awe. crisbroadhurst
